Well I talked about my thoughts and reflections on the class in several other post. I finished my final work so long ago I didn’t realize I had to do a separate post still! Oh goodness!

Well this class was an adventure. Over all I would say it was quite difficult. I spend hours on end working at one part of each weeks assignment. There was a lot of frustration trying to figure out how to work apps and make things.

However, I would not say it was a waste and don’t fully regret the class. I am proud of the work I accomplished. I am happy to say I can make Gif’s and movies. These skills I will use for a long time. I was glad towards the end of the class where DailyCreates were an option and no longer required.

Oh, to be a raindrop. To travel as it gets to travel. To see what it gets to see. To play in the water. To fly. To float on the breeze.

Why just dream of it? Create it! Let us follow those lucky water droplets on their journey. It is a rainy day in Washington State. But it won’t stay there for long. This cloud seems to be on the move. The winds are taking it across the country. From sea to shining sea.

Here is the highlighted path the rain drop is predicted to take. But following storms on a map or the weather channel is nothing new to us humans. Traveling the way a raindrop travels, now that is something exciting. So, let us follow a single raindrop on its journey. It may not stay with us long here in America. And, who knows where it has been before! What natural wonders has it seen? What countries? Where does it want to travel? While it is here in America what will it see as it travels across our beautiful country? I guess the best way to see what it has seen is following that raindrop on Pinterest.

See what our water droplet friend sees as it travels from state to state. Washington State and all it’s glory! Then, through the in-coast states. Idaho,Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, (a little South Dakota) Iowa (a little Minnesota), Wisconsin, The great lakes, Michigan, Ohio, ( a little Pennsylvania) West Virginia, Virginia and then back to the ocean in good ol’ North Carolina.

Man what a journey! The great wonders of America. The things this raindrop has seen are mind boggling. So much beauty from coast to coast! It has flown over some states. It rained down on the cities of many. Whisked the earth in morning dew. Covered the mountaintops white. Flowed through the rivers and rested in the lakes. But, nothing seems to be like play in the ocean. Being a small part of something so great, vast and powerful! As this water droplet’s journey across the United States ends in has built up into a great store. All the other water that has joined it’s journey along the way is darkening the skies of the North Carolina Coast. A great storm is forming. A beautiful song and dance of water that is so excited to return to the ocean.

As the storm comes to an end a new journey begins. The raindrop now gets to spend time playing in the ocean tossing and turning. It gets to be a part of the greatest masterpiece. A small part of beautiful waves. Playing with the fish. And holding hands with surfers as they paddle out. ng in the ocean. Being a small part of something so great, vast and powerful! The journey never ends!

Wow, my last weekly summary! Feels great! Still have to jump into that final project but the semester of hard work is coming to a end. I have learned a lot though and value the things I’ve learned!

This week was about using things already created. Some remixed, some mashed up, some created, and some recycled.

Remixing is quite a cool concept. We see it in so many parts of media and entertainment that we do not even realize. I learned a lot by looking at other remix and hearing people’s views on remix. I think the most outstanding concept I gathered was the power or remix. That they are just as powerful if not more as the media they are remixing. For instance that of advertisement. Our culture is constantly bombarded with advertisement and propaganda. Buy this, get this, do this, support that. It is everywhere. A lot of companies advertise through media such as image, visual, and video. They create media in a way that makes what they are selling seem flawless and amazing. Here is where remixing can use it’s power to turn advertisement on it’s head. Commercials (and other media) can be remixed to exemplify the negative affects of the product. Remixing can reveal the truth that so many companies, businesses, and politicians hide behind candy coated advertisement.

I mashed up some media myself this week. Actually, I did more then 7 stars!

The coolest thing I did for stars this week was to create my own assignment. This took a lot of time and looking through Youtube clips. But I brought a blast to the past with Hilary Duff and Lizzy Mcguire. Presto! Mashup!

I also mashed up a movie poster this week. I used to robot movies and mashed them into one! A then added a little color defect to show something has gone wrong! Movie Mashup

Always Recycle Is not only the last of my Mash up assignments, but, also use of recycled media. I went through http://minus.com/mvKXzhhcO and chose several recycled media. However, I chose based around a them I created from one audio media I found. Each individual media was combined through film to create a new story!

REMIXXXX!!!! haha.

Lastly I used the new tool this week to remix an assignment. I was at the mercy of a remix generator but it turned out all right. (a little weird but that’s cool) For this assignment I had to put on my nonfiction character skills. Snobby Artist vs. Album Cover

My mashup assignment combined a process of randomly creating an album cover and the critique of a snobby artist. Disclaimer: no hate to the actual artist. I’m just doing the assignment. Here goes nothing:

This Album Cover is so drab!

Like hello. There is no sense of artistic touch. I’ve seen kids in Paris color better than this. To call yourself an artist you must create like an artist. Make something awesome. I’m not sure what this is. But, nothing flows. It’s not easy on my eyes. I literally have to go rest in a dark development room after this. I mean just looking at it has been painful!

Someone get me a coffee! I’m going to do something to help this train wreck out! It wont be easy. But, i mean just look at my elbow patches, I obviously can make anything beautiful. Luck for this person that I came along!

NOW there is an album cover I would actually pick up in a store.

Mashup Those Movies

I realized after doing this Mashup that I already had 7 stars. But, why not publish it. So here it is. I mashed up two movie posters. They are both robot movies but completely different. WallE is more of a love story about two cute little robots. I robot is a story of robots taking over the world. So, actually they are completely opposite because WallE is trying to save the world!

What is going on!? Walle is a good robot who loves others and is trying to help save the world. How could his kind be so evil!? New robots are taking over his world. They are evil and coming to turn his sweet little story upside down.
